2024 MEETING SCHEDULE

Winter Meeting:  Wednesday, January 17th, 2024 7:00 p.m. via Zoom
Join us for a business meeting which will include one speaker topic. Valerie Davis will present a beautiful quilt from the late 18th to early 19th c. The quilt is pieced cotton, linen backing and wool batting. It has a particularly interesting history in its relationship to the Museum as it was loaned in 1904 by a member of the D.A.R. for an educational program to Milwaukee Public School students to teach early American history to them. The Zoom link was sent to members on Jan 6. Please use the Contact page if you need the Zoom link.

Saturday May 11th, 2024 10:00 a.m. 
at Blue Bar Quilts, 6333 University Ave, Middleton
.. Join us for an exploration of Sunbonnet Sue quilts.  Jean Brew will be our speaker and will present her personal collection.  Please bring any Sunbonnet Sue quilts you own to share.  We will also have time for Show and Tell of any new acquisitions or quilts of interest. 
.. We will be in the classroom space.  There are sandwich establishments nearby, but bring a bag lunch if you would like to stay in and chat during the lunch break.  We will be done by 2:00 p.m.  Blue Bar has a terrific selection of fabrics, so come prepared to shop! Hope to see you on the 11th at 10:00 a.m.

at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts

.. Carol Butzke will provide a presentation about Whitework. Please bring any Whitework quilts you own to share.  We will also have time for Show and Tell of any new acquisitions or quilts of interest. 
.. We will be in the classroom space.  It’s best to bring a bag lunch and we will chat during the lunch break.  We need to be done by 2:00 p.m.  The museum is open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays.  The exhibit on display during July will be “25 Million Stitches:  One Stitch, One Refugee”.

Fall Retreat:  Friday October 18th to Sunday October 20th, 2024
at Mt. Morris Conference Center, Wautoma
.. Carol Butzke will be presenting her fabric identification and dating materials which typically is only available in Paducah as a two day class.
.. More details about the retreat will be shared with members at our meetings.

The Wisconsin Quilt Study Group will have a table at the Winter Quilt Show on Saturday, February 10th 2024.  The show is on the Washington County Fairgrounds and is hosted by the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts.  Please stop by our table to learn more about our Group.
